Carpet Master Carpet and Upholstery Stain Removal

At Carpet Master, stain removal isn’t guesswork — it’s chemistry, fibre knowledge, and experience all working together. Different stains respond to different treatments, and using the wrong product can set a stain permanently. That’s why we take a careful, informed approach to every job.

We deal with all types of stains, including:

  • Tannin stains (like coffee, tea and red wine)

  • Protein stains (such as blood, dairy and egg)

  • Oil-based stains (makeup, grease, body oils)

  • Synthetic dyes (like ink or soft drinks)

  • Pet stains (urine and faeces)

For example, coffee stains are tannin-based and usually require an acidic stain remover to break down the residue without damaging fibres. Wine spills often need oxidising agents to lift the colour without bleaching surrounding areas. Protein stains, on the other hand, require enzyme-based solutions that digest organic matter — but only at the right pH and temperature, otherwise they won’t work effectively.

Just as important is understanding the carpet type. Wool carpets, for instance, can react poorly to high-alkaline cleaners, while synthetic carpets like nylon or polyester are more resistant and can tolerate stronger treatments. The age of the stain matters too — a fresh spill is much more likely to lift cleanly than one that’s had time to set and bond to the fibres.

We’ll inspect your carpet on arrival, carry out a spot test if needed, and give honest advice about the likely outcome. If we don’t think it will come out, we’ll let you know upfront — we won’t charge for false hope.

Bottom line? Some stains can be lifted with the right chemical process and care — others may be permanent. But with 30+ years in the industry, if it can be removed, we’ll know how to do it.

    • Send us a clear photo when you book (this helps us pre-assess)

    • Let us know what caused the stain (even a rough idea helps)

    • Mention how long the stain has been there

    • Tell us what type of carpet it is (if known)
